BULLDOGS BIT BY WOLVES 2-1 IN SHOOTOUT

Edward Pasquale stopped three of five Hamilton shooters in the shootout while three Chicago skaters scored to win the game for the Wolves.

Chicago, IL – The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated by the Chicago Wolves 2-1 in a shootout on Saturday night. Edward Pasquale stopped three of five Hamilton shooters in the shootout while three Chicago skaters scored to win the game for the Wolves.  

The Bulldogs opened the game’s scoring at 8:36 of the first period. Ryan Russell received the puck from Kyle Klubertanz before sending the puck to J.T. Wyman. Wyman banked the puck off the back of Chicago starting goaltender Edward Pasquale and into the back of the net.

Following a scoreless second stanza, the Wolves tied the game 1-1 at 6:15 of the final frame. Riley Holzapfel sent the puck to Mark Matheson, who skated into the ‘Dogs zone. Matheson snapped a shot that beat Hamilton starting goaltender Drew MacIntyre over the right shoulder.

Neither team could score in the overtime period, sending the game to a shootout. Michael Davies, Ryan Garbutt and Sergio Somma beat MacIntyre while only Mathieu Carle and Dustin Boyd scored for Hamilton as Pasquale stopped three of five shooters to win the game.     

The Bulldogs will finish their road trip tomorrow for a 5:05 p.m. game against the Rivermen in Peoria. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
