BULLDOGS EDGE BARONS 2-1 IN GAME 2

Drew MacIntyre made 38 saves while Nigel Dawes recorded the game-winning goal.

Hamilton, ON – The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Oklahoma City Barons 2-1 in Game 2 of the North Division Semi-Final to take a 2-0 series lead. Drew MacIntyre made 38 saves while Nigel Dawes recorded the game-winning goal.

The Barons opened the game’s scoring at 17:18 of the first frame. Colin McDonald skated into the Bulldogs zone on the right side of the ice before centering a pass to Brad Moran. Moran blasted a shot that beat Hamilton starting goaltender Drew MacIntyre over the blocker.

The ‘Dogs tied the game 1-1 at 19:57 of the opening period. Andreas Engqvist received the puck from Brendon Nash while positioned to the left of the net. Engqvist sent a shot towards the net that bounced off the skate of Oklahoma City starting goaltender Martin Gerber and over the goal line.

Hamilton took a 2-1 lead at 1:03 of the second stanza while on the power play. Frederic St. Denis gave the puck to Aaron Palushaj, who was at the left side boards. Palushaj fed the puck to Dawes, who was in the slot. Dawes one-timed a shot over the glove of Gerber and into the top of the net.


The Bulldogs will travel to Oklahoma City to battle the Barons in Game 3 on Tuesday, April 19th at 8:05 p.m. EST. All Hamilton Bulldogs playoff broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
