BULLDOGS FOUNDATION, ATS AND PEPSICO BEVERAGES CANADA TEAM UP TO QUENCH THIRST

42,000 bottles of Tropicana Tropics juice blends delivered to schools and community food banks as part of the Dawgs Breakfast Program

HAMILTON, ON – The Hamilton Bulldogs and the Bulldogs Foundation, with the support of ATS (Andlauer Transportation Services) and PepsiCo Beverages Canada, delivered 42,000 355 ml bottles of Tropicana Tropics juice blends to eight schools and two community food banks on Tuesday, April 26th as part of the commitment to the Dawgs Breakfast Program. 

The Hamilton Bulldogs and Bulldogs Foundation in conjunction with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board announced on November 30th, 2010, the launch of the Dawgs Breakfast Program. The program provides breakfast to over 2,000 students who attend Barton Secondary School, Bennetto Elementary School and Parkview Secondary School. With support from The Grocery Foundation and PepsiCo Foods Canada, the owner of the Quaker brand, the Bulldogs Foundation is committing $225,000 in cash or kind to the program over the next three years. On November 30th at a press conference held at Bennetto Elementary School, The Bulldogs Foundation presented a $10,000 cheque to each of the three schools to begin the program.

The 42,000 bottles of Tropicana Tropics juice blends were delivered to eight different schools in the Hamilton area (Barton Secondary, Cathedral, Dr. J.E. Davey, Cathy Weaver, Prince of Wales, Parkview Secondary, Bennetto and Sir John A. MacDonald Secondary) and two community centres (Jamesville and the Good Shepherd Centre).

“The generous donation of 42,000 bottles of juice from PepsiCo Beverages Canada is another example how the Hamilton Bulldogs and their community partners are working together to improve the lives of our youth here in Hamilton”, said Bulldogs President and Governor Glenn Stanford.

“The Good Shepherd Centre would like to thank the Bulldogs Foundation for their generous donation of juices. We will be able to help many, by distributing the juices through our 22 facilities across the city”, said Brother Terence Aylward of the Good Shepherd Centre. “From breakfasts to dinners, many will be grateful.”

The Bulldogs will host the Manitoba Moose for Game 2 of their North Division Final series on Sunday, May 1st at 4:00 p.m. at Copps Coliseum.
