BULLDOGS MUNCH MOOSE WITH 4-1 WIN

The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Manitoba Moose 4-1 in the second of back-to-back games. Mathieu Darche recorded two goals including the 200th of his AHL career.

Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Manitoba Moose 4-1 in the second of back-to-back games. Mathieu Darche recorded two goals including the 200th of his AHL career.

 

Hamilton opened the scoring 23 seconds into the game. Tom Pyatt fired a puck on net that was saved by Manitoba starting goaltender Cory Schneider. Mathieu Darche grabbed the loose rebound before shooting the puck past Schneider and into the back of the net.

The Moose tied the game at 3:40 of the opening stanza while on the power play. Sergei Shirokov fired a shot from the top of the left faceoff circle. While positioned in front of the net, Matt Pettinger tipped the puck between the legs of Hamilton starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins.

The 'Dogs regained their lead at 6:07 of the first stanza.  Schneider exited his net to play the puck but had it stolen by J.T. Wyman. Wyman sent a pass to Ryan White, who fired a shot that bounced off Schneider and into the back of the net.

Darche gave the Bulldogs a two-goal lead at 12:04 of the second stanza. Andre Benoit received the puck from Brock Trotter before blasting a shot from the point. Darche tipped the puck past Schneider for the tally. The goal was Darche's 200th career AHL marker.

Pyatt added the Bulldogs' fourth goal at 19:25 of the final period. Ryan White fed a cross-crease pass to Pyatt, who one-timed the puck past a sprawling Schneider to seal the victory for the 'Dogs.

The Bulldogs begin a three-game road trip when they travel to San Antonio to battle the Rampage on Friday, October 23rd at 8:00 p.m. EST.
