Bulldogs Puck Collecting... a Tough Goal!
by Ross Vender
I am eleven, and live in Dundas near Hamilton and I love to collect Bulldogs pucks. I have about three dozen different Bulldogs pucks. I collect them because it is so much fun to have the joy of something that you just love to do. I chose Bulldogs pucks because I enjoy going to their games and because I live nearby. I feel very close to the Hamilton Bulldogs because they are my all time favourite AHL hockey team, and will always be, and they are the farm team of the Montreal Canadiens (my favourite NHL team). Also, the Montreal Canadiens have so much history to them. The Bulldogs were not the farm team of the Montreal Canadiens in 2001 so I only collect pucks from 2002 to present.
The very first Bulldogs puck I got was a blue official licensed product made by Inglasco. It was a collector's souvenir puck. That puck made me want to collect more. I have pucks from 2002 to present year and from 2007 when the Hamilton Bulldogs won the Calder Cup. I also have autographed pucks by Ben Maxwell and P.K. Subban, official game pucks, and pucks from the Bulldogs 10th anniversary. I would have to say my favourite pucks are the autographed ones.
The next time I go to a game, I am going to bring a puck for Bruiser to sign for my collection. The next puck I would love to get would either be a puck signed by ex-Bulldog Marc Denis or a puck flipped to me by a Bulldogs player during a practice or during the game. I hope to keep on collecting Bulldogs pucks my whole life because it is so interesting and it is what I love!!
