HAMILTON, ON – The Hamilton Bulldogs were shutout 2-0 by the Manitoba Moose on Friday night at Copps Coliseum. With the loss, the ‘Dogs record falls to 31-24-2-5 on the campaign.

After a scoreless opening frame, the Moose broke the stalemate at 4:03 of the second period when Colby Genoway picked up a rebound and buried a power-play marker to make it 1-0. Shaun Heshka and Michael Grabner assisted Genoway’s 12th goal of the season.

At 14:25 of the middle stanza, the Bulldogs appeared to have tied the game 1-1 on a blast by Marvin Degon. However, Eric Manlow was called for goaltender interference on the play and the goal was waived off.

On the ensuing power play, Jason Jaffray increased the Moose lead to 2-0 at the 15:39 mark of the second frame with his 18th tally of the campaign. Heshka, earning his second point of the night, and Brad Moran tallied helpers on the goal.

Despite outshooting Manitoba 12-to-9 in the third period, Hamilton couldn’t mount a comeback and the score remained 2-0.

Between the pipes, Yann Danis turned aside 30 of the 32 shots he faced in a losing effort for the Bulldogs, while Cory Schneider recorded a 24-save shutout for the Moose.

Hamilton was 0-for-7 with the man advantage, while Manitoba went 2-for-4 on the power play.
