CANADIENS RECALL MICHAEL BLUNDEN

Right-winger played 8 games with Montreal earlier this season

MONTREAL, QC (December 14, 2011) - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Pierre Gauthier announced today that right-winger Michael Blunden has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Blunden, 24, played in a total of 17 games with the Bulldogs this season, tallying 8 points (3 goals, 5 assists) and 49 shots on goal. Blunden, who is from Toronto, Ontario, played in eight games with the Canadiens earlier this season, recording four shots and averaging 5:01 minutes on ice per game. The 6-foot-4, 211-pound right-winger has suited up for a total of 59-career NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets and Montreal Canadiens, registering four points (two goals, two assists).

The Hamilton Bulldogs' next game is scheduled for TONIGHT, Wednesday, December 14th, 2011 against the Lake Erie Monsters at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum.
