CANADIENS RECALL YANNICK WEBER FROM BULLDOGS

Hamilton releases Ryan Murphy from P.T.O.

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that defenceman Yannick Weber has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs to Montreal. Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Julien BriseBois also announced that the club has released forward Ryan Murphy from his Professional Tryout (P.T.O.) contract.  

Weber, 21, has played in 24 games with the Bulldogs this season posting six points (one goal, five assists) and 24 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-11, 193-pound defenceman played in three games with the Canadiens earlier in the season but was held pointless. The native of Zurich, Switzerland was drafted by Montreal in the 3rd round, 73rd overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Murphy, 30, competed in five games with the 'Dogs this year earning one assist and two penalty minutes. The native of Van Nuys, California played in 64 games with the Lowell Devils last season earning 21 points (nine goals, 12 assists) and 29 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound left wing was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 4th round, 113th overall in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

The Bulldogs travel to Glens Falls to battle the Adirondack Phantoms on Friday, December 18th at 7:30 p.m. Fans can listen to every 'Dogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
