CANADIENS SIGN MATHIEU DARCHE TO CONTRACT FOR 2010-2011 SEASON

Forward played in 32 games with Bulldogs last season earning 25 points

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Pierre Gauthier announced today the signing of forward Mathieu Darche to a one-year contract (2010-2011). As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Darche, 33, played in 29 regular season games with the Canadiens in 2009-2010 recording 10 points (five goals, five assists) while also playing in 11 post-season games and posting one assist. The native of Montreal began last season with the Bulldogs accumulating 25 points (16 goals, nine assists) in 32 games. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound left wing has amassed 34 points (13 goals, 21 assists) and 30 penalty minutes in 130 National Hockey League regular season games while posting 443 points (212 goals, 231 assists) and 290 penalty minutes in 552 American Hockey League regular season games.
