CANADIENS SIGN TOM PYATT TO ONE-YEAR CONTRACT

Forward played in 41 games with Bulldogs last season earning 35 points

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Pierre Gauthier announced today the signing of forward Tom Pyatt to a one-year contract (2010-2011). As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Pyatt, 23, played in 40 regular season games with the Canadiens in 2009-2010 recording five points (two goals, three assists) while also playing in 18 post-season games and posting four points (two goals, two assists). The native of Thunder Bay, Ontario also played in 41 regular season games with the Bulldogs last season earning 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists). The 5-foot-11, 187-pound forward was selected in the 4th round, 107th overall by the New York Rangers at the 2005 NHL Entry Draft before being acquired by Montreal in a trade with the Rangers on June 30th, 2009.
