HAMILTON, ON – The Hamilton Bulldogs and the Bulldogs Foundation are once again giving back to the Hamilton community this holiday season.
The fun starts this Friday, December 9th, 2011 when the Bulldogs face the Toronto Marlies at Copps Coliseum in what has become one of the most anticipated games of the season. Fans are asked to bring a new stuffed toy to the 15th Annual Toy Toss game. When the ‘Dogs score their first goal, fans will have a chance to toss the stuffed toys onto the ice. Those who forget to bring a toy can also purchase a stuffed bulldog from representatives of The Growl, the Hamilton Bulldogs’ Booster Club, located behind section 107 on the main concourse of Copps Coliseum. All items collected will be donated to various organizations in the Greater Hamilton Area, who will distribute the stuffed toys to less fortunate children during the holiday season. Since its inception in 1996, over 30,000 stuffed toys have been collected and distributed to over 20 local organizations, including McMaster Children’s Hospital, the Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton and Interval House of Hamilton.
Fans attending home games in December also have the opportunity to help the team spread the joys of the season by participating in the 4th Annual “My Favourite Things” raffle. Until Wednesday, December 14th, 2011, fans can visit the Bulldogs Foundation booth behind section 113 on the main concourse of Copps Coliseum to check out the gifts that each ‘Dogs player has put together. The baskets, which feature some of that player’s favourite things, cater to all interests and demographics. Tickets are available at a variety of price points: 1 for $2, 3 for $5, 7 for $12, 10 for $15, and 20 for $20. All funds raised through raffle ticket sales go directly to help provide Christmas presents, food and clothing for four less fortunate families selected by the Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton. The “My Favourite Things” raffle draw will take place during the December 14th game against the Lake Erie Monsters at Copps Coliseum. Winners will get to walk away with their prize following the game. Last year alone, the raffle raised over $2,500, but the smiles on the faces of the favoured families were priceless.
The Hamilton Bulldogs next game is on Friday, December 9th, at 7:30 p.m. Copps Coliseum when they will face the Toronto Marlies in the 15th Annual Stuffed Toy Toss game at Copps Coliseum. Single game tickets for the 2011-2012 season (including the 2012 AHL Outdoor Classic) are available at the Copps Coliseum Box Office, any Ticketmaster Outlet, online at www.ticketmaster.ca or through charge-by-phone at 1-855-872-5000.
