MARLIES ICE BULLDOGS 7-2 IN 2012 AHL OUTDOOR CLASSIC

HAMILTON, ON - The Toronto Marlies defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 7-2 in the 2012 AHL Outdoor Classic presented by Molson Canadian and Boston Pizza at Ivor Wynne Stadium on Saturday, January 21st, 2012. Greg Scott scored two goals for the Marlies while Philippe Dupuis, Nicolas Deschamps and Jerry D'Amigo each had three points.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring just twenty-seven seconds into the game. Ian Schultz centered the puck from behind the net to Masse in the slot who chipped it past Toronto Marlies goaltender Ben Scrivens.

The Marlies tied the score at 5:26 of the opening period on a goal by Mike Zigomanis. Ryan Hamilton passed the puck to Zigomanis in the high slot who backhanded a shot over the shoulder of Bulldogs goalie Nathan Lawson. Toronto grabbed the lead at 8:19 of the first frame on a goal by Greg Scott. The Marlies added their third tally of the period when Drew Paris scored at 12:02.

Marcel Mueller made it 4-1 Marlies at 8:33 of the second stanza. Then, Louis Leblanc scored Hamilton's second goal of the game at 10:08. Leblanc skated through the neutral zone for a partial breakaway, deking the puck past Scrivens and into the back of the net.

At 16:18 into the third period, Joe Colborne gave the Marlies a 5-2 lead. Toronto scored again less than two minutes later and added one more at 18:31 of the third stanza. The Marlies outshot the Bulldogs 27-21 in their 2012 AHL Outdoor Classic win.

The Hamilton Bulldogs play next on Tuesday, January 24th, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in Cleveland, Ohio against the Lake Erie Monsters.
