Tim Horton's Camp Day

CAMP DAY!!! CAMP DAY!!! CAMP DAY!!!

Today was Tim Horton's Camp Day and what a great day it was to help send a kid to camp.  Bruiser was all over the city visiting numerous Tim Horton's locations and getting people to donate towards Camp Day.  Every year on June 1st, Tim Horton's donates all the funds raised from all coffee sales to send local kids to camp.  This is by far one of the busiest days of the year for Tim Horton's and since Bruiser can eat his weight in timbits he was more then happy to volunteer his services.  Be sure to get out to your local Tim's today and donate to Camp Day!

Movember

Hi,
This Movember, the month formerly known as November I've decided to donate my face to raising awareness about prostate cancer.  My donation and commitment is the growth of a moustache for the entire month of Movember, which I know will generate conversation, controversy and laughter.
I'm doing this because 4,400 men die of prostate cancer in Canada each year and one in six men will be diagnosed during his lifetime.
This is a cause that I feel passionately about and I'm asking you to support my efforts by making a donation to Prostate Cancer Canada.
To help, you can either:
-     Click this link http://ca.movember.com/mospace/705586/ and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account
-     Write a cheque payable to 'Prostate Cancer Canada', referencing my name or Registration Number 705586 and mailing it to: Prostate Cancer Canada, Suite 306 145 Front Street East, Toronto, ON M5A 1E3, Canada.
All donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
For more details on how the funds raised from previous campaigns have been used and the impact Movember is having please visit: http://ca.movemberfoundation.com/research-and-programs.

Skating Party

On Friday, February 12th I was invited to a skating party with Parkdale School.  WOW, was it ever fun to get out on the ice with all my friends and skate around.  I just love feeling the wind blow through my fur as I speed across the frozen rink.  I can hear the sound of my skates cutting into the ice as I turn and weave my way around the busy rink.  Ice skating sure is one of my favorite things to do.  It is a great way to get some exercise and it's really fun too.

Thanks again to Parkdale School for inviting me to their skating party and I can't wait to do it all over again next year!

Name That Dog!

Well, there is a new Bulldog on the block and his name is???

On Thursday, February 11th I was a special guest at St. Bernadette School as they had an assembly to kick off a school competition to name their school mascot.  Obviously I would not miss this opportunity to help my friends at St. Bernadette as well as a fellow Bulldog.  You see their school mascot is a Bulldog just like me.  He is cute and cuddly, but I think he still has a long way to go before he can come and play with the BIG DOGS.  I want to wish everyone at St. Bernadette all the best of luck in finding a name for their Bulldog, but just remember that the name Bruiser is already taken...lol.

Rotary Club of Hamilton

Annual Christmas Lunch at Cathy Wever School

Hi kids, I just love the Holiday Season, don't you? Everyone is so happy this time of year and always willing to lend a helping hand, especially the members of the Rotary Club of Hamilton.

On Thursday, December 17th the Rotary Club of Hamilton put on their annual Christmas Lunch at Cathy Wever School.  As soon as I arrived I could smell the aroma of food as it was being served.  The lunch consisted of a full turkey dinner with all the fixings just like mom used to make, and was it ever tasty!  As the students sat and enjoyed their festive lunch they were entertained by performers, including a festive sing along put on by the Paul Gordon Dancers that got the whole crowed into the Christmas spirit. Even my friend, Santa Claus, made a special trip from the North Pole to say hi to all the children at Cathy Wever.

This annual event keeps getting better and better each year by creating lasting memories for all the children in the Cathy Wever Community Hub.  Thanks to the Rotarians and all the volunteers that helped to make this Christmas lunch such a special event.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Well, This morning I visited Hess Street School for their annual Festive Pancake Breakfast put on by the Hamilton AM Rotary Club.  Every year the Rotarians put on a special Christmas Pancake Breakfast for all the children and staff at Hess Street School.  They even got my good buddy Santa to stop by with some presents for everyone too.  It was so much fun flipping pancakes and helping to serve breakfast to all my friends at Hess Street School.  Did you know that pancake batter sticks to dog fur?  Well, you do now... and so do I.

I hope you all have a safe and fun HOLIDAY SEASON.  All the best from your buddy BRUISER!

School Visits in support of St. Francis Xavier Parish night at the Dog Pound

  Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to give a big shout out to all of the schools I visited over the past few days.  Last week I went out to see a bunch of my friends in Stoney Creek.  We went to five different elementary schools to help promote the upcoming St. Francis Xavier Parish Hockey Night at the Dog Pound.  I just want to take this opportunity to give a "WHO LET THE DOGS OUT" bark to all my school friends at Our Lady of Peace, St. Francis Xavier, St. Martin of Tours, St. Agnes and St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Schools.  I hope to see you all again at our game on December 28th as the Bulldogs take on the Toronto Marlies.

MASCOT CHALLENGE - AIR CANADA CENTRE

Hey Kids, it's me... your buddy Bruiser!

I just wanted to let you know about all the fun things I have been up to lately.  Last week I took part in the annual Great Canadian Mascot Games at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.  Boy, it sure was fun to see all my mascot friends again and have a little friendly mascot competition.  We divided all the mascots into two teams, Team White and Team Blue.  First we did some fun mascot games like musical chairs, puck shooting and t-shirt tossing.  Not to toot my own horn too much, but I won the end-to-end shooting competition and was awarded 5 points for Team Blue.

After the mascot skills challenge, we took part in a full on mascot ice hockey game as well.  There were tons of bone crushing hits and nice plays on both ends of the ice.  But my favorite play was a beauty Tick-Tack-Toe passing play between Ace, the Raptor and myself that helped lead Team Blue to a 6-0 victory over Team White.

In the end it did not matter who won the annual Great Canadian Mascot Games, but instead it was all about having fun and getting together with friends... Oh, did I mention that Team Blue won both the skills competition and the ice hockey game in a clean sweep?

WALMART WALK FOR MIRACLES

HEY FANS!!!

This summer is turning out to be a HOT one, and dog oh dog are we busy! On June 14th we made an appearance at the 6th annual Wal-Mart Walk for Miracles. I love events that make such an impact on kids lives. This event is no different, 100% of the funds collected go to providing compassionate care, life-saving equipment and much-needed breakthrough pediatric research for more than 2.6 million children and their families each year. Whether you walked 1 km or 5 everyone did a great job. We CAN make a difference!

Tim Horton's CAMP DAY!!

"HEY CAMPERS!"
On Wednesday June 3rd, I was all over the city visiting different Tim Horton's stores so that I could help out with Camp Day. All the profits from EVERY SINGLE cup of coffee sold went towards the Tim Horton's Children's Foundation. This Non-profit foundation plans on sending over 14,000 kids to one of six camps all across the country. I did everything from making coffee and serving donuts (mmm donuts....) to cleaning car windows in the drive thru. I even met some new friends along the way. Check out the pictures from TIM HORTON'S CAMP DAY!

"Hey even I made sure to get a coffee in...mmm...delicious!...."

"Police in the Park"

HEY KIDS!

On Wednesday May 13th I got to hang out with Hamilton's finest police officers! Not only were Hamilton's finest there but, Hamilton Crime Stoppers, SISO, Niagara Mounted Police, OPP and RCMP also took part. From the Hamilton Police Service: Auxiliary Police, Canine, COAST, ERU, Forensic Services and the Marine Unit were also part of the event!!

It was a great event for all the kids who were there, and they even had a huge BBQ! Although I didn't get any bones to eat, they did offer me a hot dog (which I was not happy about.) I went with the sausage instead! :)
