CLEVELAND, OHIO – The Hamilton Bulldogs (10-9-0-3) have a chance to jump into a tie for first place in the American Hockey League’s North Division tonight as they take on the Lake Erie Monsters (11-9-0-1) at 7:30 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

Tonight’s game is the fifth of 10 match ups between the Bulldogs and the Monsters this season, as well as the third of five in Cleveland. In their first four meetings this season, each club has earned a regulation win and a shootout win. Tonight’s game will also be the second of three games between the ‘Dogs and Monsters over a nine-day stretch. The division rivals will also face off on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Copps Coliseum.

In Hamilton’s last game, on Saturday, November 30th, the ‘Dogs tied up the season series with the Monsters with a convincing 4-1 victory, led by two goals from forward Patrick Holland and a 27-save performance by goaltender Dustin Tokarski.

The Monsters will be playing for the second consecutive day at home tonight. They topped the North Division-leading Toronto Marlies 2-1 last night at the ‘Q’.

Hamilton and Lake Erie currently sit tied for third in a tight North Division, which currently has two points separating the top four teams.

- There are currently six Ontario-born players on the Monsters roster: F Andrew Agozzino (Kleinburg), F Garrett Meurs (Ripley), F Joey Hishon (Stratford), F Mike Sgarbossa (Campbellville), F Mitchell Heard (Bowmanville) and D Daniel Maggio (Windsor).
- Monsters goaltenders Sami Aittokallio and Calvin Pickard have alternated starts in each of the past four games.
- On Thursday, the Bulldogs recalled forward Ben Duffy from the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers and signed forward Scott Zurevinski to a 25-game professional try out contract.
- Hamilton forwards Martin St. Pierre and Christian Thomas have combined for 14 points over the past four games.
- The Bulldogs are 4-3-0-1 in Friday games this season.
