ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA – Hamilton Bulldogs forward Gabriel Dumont scored twice to lead the ‘Dogs (17-14-0-4) to a 3-1 win over the Abbotsford Heat (23-11-1-1) at Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre in Abbotsford, British Columbia on Saturday evening. The victory extended Hamilton’s winning streak to a season-high five games and also bumped their season-best point streak to six games.

Abbotsford struck first on the power play at 11:31 of the first period when a centring pass from defenceman Kane Lafranchise took a couple bounces before meeting forward Markus Granlund in the slot, who then ripped a shot past Hamilton goaltender Dustin Tokarski. Forward Max Reinhart was credited with a second assist on the goal.

Hamilton replied with 3:12 left in the second period when forward Mike Blunden fired the puck on net and it bounced off forward Gabriel Dumont and in for Dumont’s sixth goal of the season. Forward Nick Tarnasky collected a second assist on the sequence.

Just 49 seconds into the third period, Dumont notched his second goal of the night and seventh of the season on the power play to make it 2-1 Hamilton. Forward Sven Andrighetto and defenceman Nathan Beaulieu drew assists on the play.
