41 BULLDOGS ALUMNI COMPETING IN STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS

HAMILTON, ONTARIO – Among the 16 teams that qualified for the 2013-2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, there are 41 Hamilton Bulldogs alumni, including 36 players and five coaches.

Twenty-one of those alumni are currently with the Bulldogs’ National Hockey League affiliate, the Montreal Canadiens, including 10 regular players (forwards Michael Bournival, David Desharnais, Brendan Gallagher, Max Pacioretty, Tomas Plekanec and Ryan White; defencemen Francis Boullion, P.K. Subban and Jarred Tinordi; and goaltender Carey Price), 10 players recently recalled following the Bulldogs’ season (forwards Sven Andrighetto, Mike Blunden, Gabriel Dumont, Louis Leblanc and Christian Thomas; defencemen Nathan Beaulieu, Davis Drewiske and Greg Pateryn; as well as goaltenders Devan Dubnyk and Dustin Tokarski) and one assistant coach (Clement Jodoin).

Of the additional 20 ‘Dogs alumni in other NHL organizations, 16 are players and four are coaches, including forwards Maxim Lapierre (St. Louis Blues), Steve Ott (St. Louis Blues), Shawn Horcoff (Dallas Stars), Jarret Stoll (Los Angeles Kings), Dan Cleary (Detroit Red Wings), Danny Kristo (New York Rangers), Benoit Pouliot (New York Rangers), Tom Pyatt (Tampa Bay Lightning) and Raffi Torres (San Jose Sharks); defencemen Francois Beauchemin (Anaheim Ducks), Andre Benoit (Colorado Avalanche), Trevor Daley (Dallas Stars), Jan Hejda (Colorado Avalanche) and Danny Syvret (New York Rangers); goaltenders Yann Danis (Philadelphia Flyers) and Tim Thomas (Dallas Stars); head coach Claude Julien (Boston Bruins); and assistant coaches Doug Jarvis (Boston Bruins), Daniel Lacroix (New York Rangers) and Geoff Ward (Boston Bruins).

Bournival played in 72 regular season games with Hamilton from 2012 to 2014, recording 33 points (12 goals, 21 assists) and 28 penalty minutes.

Desharnais skated in 176 regular season matches with the Bulldogs between 2007 and 2010, recording 182 points (61 goals, 121 assists) and 84 penalty minutes.

Gallagher participated in 36 regular season games with Hamilton during the 2012-2013 season, recording 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) and 61 penalty minutes.

Pacioretty played in 82 regular season contests with the ‘Dogs from 2008 to 2010, recording 72 points (25 goals, 47 assists) and 73 penalty minutes.

Plekanec skated in 233 regular season games with Hamilton from 2002 to 2006, recording 176 points (71 goals, 105 assists) and 234 penalty minutes.

White participated in 179 regular season matches with the Bulldogs from 2008 to 2012, recording 80 points (35 goals, 45 assists) and 344 penalty minutes.

Bouillon played in 29 regular season games with Hamilton during the 2002-2003 season, recording 13 points (one goal, 12 assists) and 31 penalty minutes.

Subban skated in 77 regular season contests with the ‘Dogs during the 2009-2010 season, recording 53 points (18 goals, 35 assists) and 82 penalty minutes.

Tinordi participated in 144 regular season games with Hamilton between 2012 and 2014, recording 22 points (five goals, 17 assists) and 141 penalty minutes.

Price led the Bulldogs to their first American Hockey League Calder Cup Championship in 2007, earning the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy as most valuable player of the playoffs that season. The 26-year-old goaltender played in 12 regular season matches with the Bulldogs between 2007 and 2008, posting a record of 7-5-0 with a 2.49 goals-against average, .906 save percentage and one shutout.

Andrighetto skated in 64 regular season games with Hamilton this past season, recording 44 points (17 goals, 27 assists) and 40 penalty minutes.

Blunden has participated in 139 regular season contests with the ‘Dogs from 2011 to 2014, recording 67 points (31 goals, 36 assists) and 167 penalty minutes.

Dumont has played in 252 regular season games with Hamilton between 2010 and 2014, recording 109 points (53 goals, 56 assists) and 328 penalty minutes.

Leblanc has skated in 163 regular season matches with the Bulldogs from 2011 to 2014, recording 68 points (34 goals, 34 assists) and 146 penalty minutes.

Christian Thomas participated in 55 regular season games with Hamilton this past season, recording 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) and 22 penalty minutes.

Beaulieu has played in 124 regular season contests with the ‘Dogs between 2012 and 2014, recording 58 points (14 goals, 44 assists) and 96 penalty minutes.

Drewiske skated in 21 regular season games with Hamilton this past season, recording three assists and eight penalty minutes.

Pateryn has participated in 107 regular season matches with the Bulldogs from 2012 to 2014, recording 46 points (22 goals, 24 assists) and 94 penalty minutes.

Dubnyk played in eight regular season games with Hamilton this past season, posting a record of 2-5-0 with a 3.33 goals-against average and .893 save percentage.

Tokarski has participated in 56 regular season contests with the ‘Dogs between 2013 and 2014, compiling a record of 26-24-3 with a 2.34 goals-against average, .921 save percentage and four shutouts.

Jodoin spent the 2011-2012 season as head coach with Hamilton, posting a record of 34-35-2-5 over 76 regular season games.

Lapierre skated in 129 regular season matches with the Bulldogs from 2005 to 2007, recording 74 points (31 goals, 43 assists) and 336 penalty minutes. He was also part of the Calder Cup Championship team in 2007. His St. Louis Blues were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Sunday, April 27th.

Ott played in 67 regular season games with Hamilton during the 2004-2005 season, recording 39 points (18 goals, 21 assists) and 279 penalty minutes. Also with the Blues, he was eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Sunday.

Horcoff participated in 26 regular season contests with the ‘Dogs between the 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 seasons, recording 31 points (11 goals, 20 assists) and 25 penalty minutes. His Dallas Stars were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Sunday, April 27th.

Stoll skated in 76 regular season games with Hamilton during the 2002-2003 season, recording 54 points (21 goals, 33 assists) and 86 penalty minutes.

Cleary played in 67 regular season matches with the Bulldogs between the 1998-1999 and 1999-2000 seasons, recording 75 points (22 goals, 53 assists) and 115 penalty minutes. His Detroit Red Wings were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Saturday, April 26th.

Kristo appeared in nine regular season contests with Hamilton at the end of the 2012-2013 season, recording three assists and two penalty minutes. He was recalled by the Rangers following the end of his AHL season with the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Pouliot participated in three regular season games with the Bulldogs during the 2009-2010 season, recording three points (one goal, two assists) and four penalty minutes.

Pyatt skated in 41 regular season contests with the ‘Dogs during the 2009-2010 season, recording 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists) and eight penalty minutes. His Tampa Bay Lightning club was eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Tuesday, April 22nd.

Torres appeared in 11 regular season games with the Bulldogs during the 2002-2003 season, recording eight points (one goal, seven assists) and 14 penalty minutes.

Beauchemin played in 152 regular season games with Hamilton from 2002 to 2004, recording 64 points (16 goals, 48 assists) and 149 penalty minutes.

Benoit skated in 212 regular season games with the ‘Dogs from 2005 to 2010, recording 93 points (23 goals, 70 assists) and 164 penalty minutes. He was also part of the Calder Cup Championship team in 2007.

Daley participated in 78 regular season matches with the Bulldogs during the 2004-2005 season, recording 34 points (seven goals, 27 assists) and 109 penalty minutes. Also with the Stars, he was eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Sunday.

Hejda played in five regular season games with Hamilton during the 2006-2007 season, recording three assists and 21 penalty minutes.

Syvret skated in 62 regular season contests with the Bulldogs in the 2005-2006 season, recording 20 assists and 38 penalty minutes. He was recalled by the Rangers following the end of his AHL season with the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Tim Thomas appeared in 15 regular season games with the ‘Dogs during the 1998-1999 season, earning a record of 6-8-0 with a 3.23 goals-against average and .905 save percentage. Also with the Stars, he was eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Sunday.

Danis participated in 176 regular season matches with Hamilton between 2004 and 2008, posting a record of 81-67-18 with a 2.78 goals-against average, .908 save percentage and seven shutouts. He was also part of the Calder Cup Championship team in 2007. He was recalled by the Flyers following the end of his AHL season with the Adirondack Phantoms.

Julien spent more than two and a half seasons as head coach with the Bulldogs from 2000 to 2003, compiling a record of 98-77-19-11 over 205 regular season contests.

Jarvis spent two seasons as head coach with Hamilton from 2003 to 2005, earning a record of 79-54-10-17 over 160 regular season games.

Lacroix spent the 2009-2010 season as an assistant coach with the ‘Dogs. The club had a record 52-17-3-8 in 80 matches during his tenure.

Ward spent two seasons as head coach and assistant coach with Hamilton from 2001 to 2003, posting a record of 16-13-5-1 over 35 regular season games as head coach during the 2002-2003 season.
