MONTREAL, QC – Montreal Canadiens General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the signing of forward Steven Quailer to a two-year contract.

Quailer, 22, played 26 games this season for the Northeastern University Huskies (Hockey-East) where he led the team in assists and finished second in points with 25 (8 goals, 17 assists). The native of Arvada, Colorado also finished the season with four powerplay goals, one shorthanded goal and two game-winning goals while recording 78 shots on goal, 34 penalty minutes and a +7 rating.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound forward played 105 games during three seasons at Northeastern University and registered 63 points (21 goals, 42 assists) with 85 penalty minutes. In 2007-2008, Quailer played 60 games for the Sioux City Musketeers of the United Stated Hockey League where he finished second on the team notching 49 points (19 goals, 30 assists), collecting 55 penalty minutes and maintaining a +16 rating.

Quailer was selected by the Canadiens in the third round, 86th overall at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
