Tokarski, 23, split the 2012-2013 AHL season between the Hamilton Bulldogs and Syracuse Crunch. He was acquired by the Canadiens from the Tampa Bay Lightning on February 14, 2013, in exchange for goaltender Cedrick Desjardins.

In 194 career regular season AHL games with the Norfolk Admirals, Syracuse Crunch and Hamilton Bulldogs, the Humboldt, Saskatchewan native has a record of 104-72-11 with a 2.45 goals-against average, .910 save percentage and 17 shutouts. Tokarski played junior in the Western Hockey League with the Spokane Chiefs (2006-2009), finishing his career there as a Canadian Hockey League Memorial Cup Champion and Memorial Cup Most Valuable Player in 2008-2009. He also won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2009 International Ice Hockey Federation World Under-20 Championship.

The left-handed-catching goaltender has played in seven career regular season NHL games with Tampa Bay, posting a 1-3-1 record with a 3.54 goals-against average and .871 save percentage. Tokarski was drafted by the Lightning in the fifth round, 122nd overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
