HAMILTON, ONTARIO – The Hamilton Bulldogs (5-2-0-3) will be in Rochester, New York this evening to face their division rivals, the Rochester Americans (4-2-1-1), at Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial. Hamilton will be looking to build upon a 4-3 overtime win in the first meeting between these two teams less than two weeks ago.

The Bulldogs currently sit tied for first place in the North Division with the Toronto Marlies (6-3-1-0), but they hold a three-point cushion on the third-place Amerks. The ‘Dogs have only two losses in regulation through 10 games, both of which came against the Marlies. Last weekend, the ‘Dogs earned a 2-1 overtime win over the Marlies, then fell 3-2 in a shootout to the Abbotsford Heat. Each of Hamilton’s 10 contests this season have been decided by one goal.

The Americans have earned points in their last five games (3-0-1-1) and are coming off a 5-4 shootout loss to the Syracuse Crunch last Friday. Rochester leading scorer Phil Varone has registered at least a point in each of the Amerks’ eight games this season.

In eight meetings last season, Hamilton was 2-9-0-1 against Rochester.
