HAMILTON, ONTARIO – The Hamilton Bulldogs out-shot the Toronto Marlies in all three periods on Friday night, but couldn’t put a puck past Marlies netminder Drew MacIntyre as Hamilton was edged by Toronto 2-0 in front of 9,983 fans at Copps Coliseum.

The game started off on a feisty note with two fights in the opening 20 minutes. Marlies forward David Broll dropped the gloves with Bulldogs defenceman Jarred Tinordi just 7:43 into the game, then Toronto forward Sam Carrick and Hamilton forward Gabriel Dumont squared off at 15:54 of the first period.

Toronto forward Greg McKegg opened the scoring on the power play with less than two minutes to go in the opening frame. Forward Wade MacLeod and defenceman T.J. Brennan earned assists.

Marlies forward Jerry D’Amigo put the ‘Dogs behind 2-0 at 15:45 of the second period when he broke in shorthanded and slid the puck past Bulldogs goaltender Dustin Tokarski. Defenceman Kevin Marshall was credited with the only assist on the play.

Hamilton doubled up Toronto 8-4 in shots on goal in the third period as the ‘Dogs pressed to get on the board, but they couldn’t break MacIntyre’s shutout bid.

Tokarski made 20 saves on 22 shots in the Bulldogs net in the loss. MacIntyre stopped all 32 shots he faced for the Marlies in the win.
