GAME PREVIEW: BULLDOGS @ MONSTERS

CLEVELAND, OHIO – It will be a battle of opposite streaks on Saturday evening as the Hamilton Bulldogs (19-17-0-4) look to extend a season-high five-game winning streak, while the Lake Erie Monsters (17-19-0-3) will try to avoid a seventh consecutive loss when the two teams go head-to-head at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday’s game is the seventh of 10 contests between the Bulldogs and Monsters this season, as well as the fourth of five regular season games at Quicken Loans Arena. In the first six meetings with Toronto this season, Hamilton holds a record of 3-2-0-1. The last time these two teams met, the ‘Dogs had a season-high six goals for in a 6-2 win at Copps Coliseum on December 8th.

Hamilton has lost three of its past four contests, including a 2-0 shutout loss to the Toronto Marlies last night at Copps Coliseum.

As mentioned, the Monsters have dropped six straight contests, all of which have come in regulation time. However, Lake Erie has won three of its past four home games. The Monsters last played this past Thursday night, falling 4-1 to the Rochester Americans at home.

- There are currently six Ontario-born players on the Monsters roster: F Andrew Agozzino (Kleinburg), F Garrett Meurs (Ripley), F Joey Hishon (Stratford), F Mike Sgarbossa (Campbellville), F Mitchell Heard (Bowmanville) and D Daniel Maggio (Windsor).
- Monsters forward Bryan Lerg is an American Hockey League-worst -22 in plus-minus this season.
- Lake Erie leading scorer Mark Olver has points in each of his four games played in January, totaling two goals and five assists over that span.
- Bulldogs goaltender Dustin Tokarski is third in the AHL in goals-against average (2.09) and fourth in save percentage (.928).
- Hamilton defencemen Greg Pateryn and Morgan Ellis are tied for the team lead in plus-minus at +9.
