GAME PREVIEW: STARS @ BULLDOGS

HAMILTON, ONTARIO – The Hamilton Bulldogs (22-22-0-4) will look for their third straight win tonight as they host the Texas Stars (29-15-2-4) for Pink in the Rink at FirstOntario Centre.

Tonight’s game marks the second of four meetings between the Bulldogs and Stars this season. The Bulldogs have an all-time record of 8-1-0-0 against Texas and defeated the Stars by a score of 5-1 in their only match up this season.

The Stars are entering their third game of a five-game road trip tonight. Texas lost 3-2 in a shootout in the first of a back-to-back against the Abbotsford Heat last Saturday, then thrashed the Heat 7-2 on Sunday.

Hamilton looks to extend its winning streak to three games tonight. The Bulldogs snapped a five-game losing streak last Saturday with a come-from-behind 5-4 overtime win over the Binghamton Senators at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa. The ‘Dogs rode the momentum to a 4-3 win over Toronto on Sunday.

- There are currently six Ontario-born players on the Stars roster: F Brett Ritchie (Orangeville), F Mike Hedden (Dunnville), F Francis Wathier (St. Isidore), D Jamie Oleksiak (Toronto), D Cameron Gaunce (Markham) and F Dustin Jeffrey (Sarnia).
- Texas has four forwards amongst the AHL’s top 10 scorers: Travis Morin (1st), Colton Sceviour (3rd), Chris Mueller (T-8th), Curtis McKenzie (T-8th).
- Bulldogs goaltender Dustin Tokarski made 20 saves on 22 shots to help backstop the American Hockey League All-Stars to a 7-2 win over Farjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League at the 2014 AHL All-Star Classic in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador this week.
